Principal Dentist

Andy is responsible for all of your clinical requirements. Andy is experienced, enthusiastic and committed to remaining at the forefront of his profession through continuing training and development. He aims to provide a comprehensive dental service to all patients and has a special interest in Implants and restorative dentistry. Andy takes referrals from across Cornwall and Devon.
Andy graduated as a multiple prize winner from Bristol Dental School in 2000. He is a dentist with a biomechanical engineering background (BEng and MPhil) giving him an advantage in complex reconstructive dentistry. He has experience in maxillofacial surgery (Derby) where he has carried out complex surgical procedures. He has been a member of the Oxford Society of Implantology and has completed a 4 year postgraduate implant course. In addition he has been a member of British Society of Periodontology and the British Endodontic Society. He has completed a post graduate diploma from Bristol University which included all aspects of restorative dentistry (2014). He graduated from the Eastman Aesthetic Advantage Course in 2006 which focused on smile design and cosmetic dentistry. He is also a member of the British Dental Association. He regularly attends courses and conferences around the country to keep updated.
Andy believes that Dentistry is evolving rapidly at the moment and it is an exciting profession in which to be involved. With new treatment possibilities and materials we are now able to provide comprehensive, long term treatment solutions in general practice.
Andy has a family and enjoys sports and outdoor activities.

Fabrizio is our newly qualified NHS clinician who joined the practice in January 2023. Fab is working under the guidance of Andy Crighton and is eager to progress in his career.
In his spare time Fab has an interest in cycling and rugby.

Sharon joined our practice in January 2020. Sharon is a very experienced hygienist with a bright bubbly personality to make you feel at ease.
Sharon has a family and enjoys living life to the full.

Lara joined the practice in May 2022 having relocated to Cornwall from Northamptonshire. Lara has many years’ experience and is passionate about delivering oral health advise.
Lara has a young family and is enjoying life by the sea.

Jayne started her career as a trainee dental nurse in April 2006, and qualified in November 2007. Since qualifying Jayne has progressed her career into practice management and has successfully managed various dental practice countrywide.
Jayne relocated from Yorkshire to Cornwall in May 2014 and joined our practice as Practice Manager in November 2018. Since taking over the role Jayne has implemented our Portman values into everyday running of the business. She is very patient focused and a warm and welcoming personality.
Jayne loves to keep her family close and loves to travel the world whenever possible.
Lead Dental Nurse

Brooke joined the practice in November 2021, becoming lead nurse in April 2024. Brooke will be coordinating much of your treatment behind the scenes as well as ensuring all other aspects run smoothly. Brooke has great leadership skills and is very approachable which is essential when organising our lovely team of nurses. When Brooke isn’t working hard at the practice, you will find her participating in her beloved sports, playing netball and football 6 times a week.
Dental Nurse

Gemma joined the practice in April 2022 with many years of experience within the nursing field. With all of Gemma’s knowledge she can also be found assisting at our wonderful sister practices too. When Gemma is not working, you will find her either running, cycling or swim training for her Triathlon, she also enjoys the great outdoors with her dogs.
Dental Nurse
Saskia joined the practice in February 2022 as trainee dental nurse. Saskia has progressed through her training with ease and is due to qualify by the end of February 2025. Saskia is very enthusiastic and is always willing to learn, she listens and communicates within the practice ensuring that she is working to a high quality. Saskia loves to spend her free time with her two children and partner, who support Saskia greatly throughout her training.
Dental Nurse
Bethany joined the practice in January 2023 as a trainee dental nurse. Bethany eased her way through the training, qualifying in the June 2024. Bethany had always wanted to be a dental nurse and has really taken to the role. You will find her providing excellent chairside support, ensuring you are well cared for. Spending 5 days a week at the practice Bethany loves to unwind at the weekend, walking along the beach, reading a book or spending time with her sausage dog.
Trainee Dental Nurse
Lisa joined the practice in 2024 as our newest trainee dental nurse. Lisa is very committed and is still very early on in her dental career but is loving every minute of it. Lisa has taken to nursing like a fish in water becoming a real natural. She is always willing to offer a helping hand and gain any experience she can. She has settled in very well and has impressed everyone here. Lisa loves to unwind and relax by spending time with her family and dogs.
Assistant Practice Manager
Kerry has been with us since November 2018 when she joined as a receptionist and has since worked her way up to an assistant practice manager role. Kerry is still very much front facing and you will see her friendly face around the practice. In her spare time Kerry enjoys paddle boarding, mountain biking, camping and wild swimming with her husband and their dog.
TCO
Tami has worked at the practice since October 2015, she has expanded her role into Treatment Co-Ordinator.
Tami is available to talk you through your Treatment plans or options available to you should you require. Tami has a young family which she enjoys going on adventures with, she also enjoys spending time with her friends.
Receptionist
Rachel has been at the practice since 2008 working as one of our receptionists. Rachel has a wealth of knowledge and experience as one of our longest serving members of the team. She would normally be the face that greets you and is happy to guide you through your patient journey.
Rachel enjoys walking the Cornish countryside and spending time with her family.
